Nauroz’s passion for writing began in school. Before completing his secondary studies, he started writing novels, stories, and fiction for Rohoshwa Patrika and Kishore Patrika, published by Sheba Prokashoni under the legendary writer Qazi Anwar Hussain.

Before receiving his SSC results, he started working as a contributor writer at Daily Bhorer Kagoj. This opportunity changed the course of his life, setting the foundations for a career that would span three decades.

At Bhorer Kagoj, renowned writer Anisul Hoque, then Feature Editor, identified his talent and mentored him for nearly ten years. Nauroz soon became involved in special assignments and regular feature writing.

In 1998, following a major migration of journalists to Prothom Alo under the editorship of Matiur Rahman, Nauroz also joined the newspaper from its inception. His articles appeared almost daily, and he later took responsibility for Naksha, its popular lifestyle supplement.

In 2005, he joined Daily Jaijaidin under editor Shafik Rehman as the editor of lifestyle supplements.

In 2006, along with many senior journalists, he was terminated by the management and subsequently joined CSB News, Bangladesh’s first 24/7 news channel. After world-class TV journalism training, he became a prominent television anchor, known for hosting up to 12-hour live broadcasts.

Following the shutdown of CSB News in 2007, he joined ABC Radio 89.2 FM as senior news producer, marking the first-ever news-based FM radio station in Bangladesh.

In 2010, he joined ATN News as its first news editor. Despite initial criticism over his young age, he quickly became one of the most dependable names in the newsroom through his exceptional speed, accuracy, and leadership.

He briefly served at Somoy TV in 2010, returned to ATN News in 2011, and continued until 2018.

Even after taking an indefinite unpaid leave in 2018, he continued anchoring daily talk shows until 2023.
